Christmas Raffle Grand Prize Draw

Where else to start than with a look back at our Christmas Raffle Grand Prize Draw?

Every December, our Christmas Raffle gives team members the chance to win big prizes. The more tickets they buy, the higher their chances of winning!

During a fantastic day of gift-giving on Friday 20th December, we handed out over 100 prizes to our lucky winners. Among the top gifts this year were a Dyson Air Wrap, a Ninja Air Fryer, and an Apple Watch.

We love turning Pelican Towers into a festive grotto; you just can’t beat seeing the joy on people’s faces when they win. We also proudly donated 10% of the ticket sales money to our Quarter 4 charity, St Peter’s Hospice. A fantastic cause to support at a demanding time of year.

Reaching a big milestone with our Academy

When new customer service advisers join us, they spend their first few weeks in our Customer Service Academy.

We marked a huge Pelican milestone in January as we hosted our 50th Academy!

An immersive, hands-on experience delivered by our talented Learning & Development team, our Academy gives our newest team members all the knowledge they need to step confidently into their roles.

Since its launch in October 2018, we have delivered over 5920 hours of training to almost 400 people.

Lasting friendships have been formed and many people have since progressed into new roles within the business. It’s great to see it go from strength to strength.

Our first Leadership Event of 2025

We hosted our first Leadership Event of the Year in February at Nailsea Baptist Church. These quarterly events are always a great opportunity to get our leaders together and they left feeling energised for the year ahead.

On the agenda this time:

  • Sharing our latest people, network and customer updates
  • Spotlight on our People Promises 2025
  • Spotlight on supporting wellbeing (tying in with Time To Talk Day)
  • Recognising our latest Leadership Award winners

Encouraging team members to #BeKindToYourMind

We know that January can be a challenging time for many after the buzz of Christmas. Recognising that, our fab Health & Wellbeing network set up a series of #BeKindToYourMind sessions in partnership with our Mental Health First Aiders.

Designed to equip our team members with the confidence and skills to take ownership of their wellbeing, these short sessions offered a bitesize overview of some popular techniques to boost resilience and thrive.

This initiative proved so popular that we ended up booking in extra sessions this month!

Another brilliant example of our people networks offering fantastic support to our teams.
