Recognising National Customer Service Week 2024

In October, we marked National Customer Service Week 2024 by running a whole host of activities to recognise our commitment to providing excellent customer service and celebrate outstanding performance.

A personal highlight for me was spending time with our office and field teams during the week. I learned a huge amount and really enjoyed seeing the focus on delivering a great experience for our customers across all our teams.

We also ran our hugely popular Confidence Booster sessions, giving our team members a chance to brush up on the latest hot topics, and invited them to share photos with our selfie frame. A great week!

Holding our Pelican Briefs

In November, we held our Pelican Briefs – our annual in-person festival of people, business, and customer updates.

It was great to get everyone together, focusing on our latest performance, reflecting on our key focus areas, and recognising team members who have really stood out from the crowd.

Our teams had the opportunity to ask their burning questions and left feeling energised for the months ahead.

Supporting worthy causes

Supporting charitable events is a big part of life here at Pelican. Last month, we were proud to wear our ‘light and bright’ outfits in aid of Children in Need. Thanks in part to the incredible array of baked goods, we raised loads of money on the day.

Aside from supporting national fundraising initiatives like this, we also raise money for our four local quarterly charities throughout the year. These charities are voted for by our team members, who nominate worthy causes that resonate with them – often because they or someone close to them has benefited from their support.

This year, we have proudly raised money for Bristol Mind, Southmead Hospital Charity, Caring in Bristol and St Peter’s Hospice.

Celebrating another successful year

During the final months of the year, we’ve hosted two hugely popular events – our annual Quiz Night and our Christmas Party.

As well as getting teams from all areas of the business together, these events give us a chance to celebrate another successful 12 months for us. My top highlights include reaching the landmark milestone of 10,000 reviews on Trustpilot, receiving a record-breaking number of nominations in our annual people awards, and bringing home no fewer than three awards at the South West Contact Centre Awards 2024 in June.

This reflects our continued drive to be a business that people love to work for, and to deliver great experiences for our customers. Here’s to a great 2025!
